DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) was first synthesized in 1866 by the Russian scientist Alexander Zaytsev. However, it was not until 1959 when Dr. Stanley W. Jacob, an American medical doctor and researcher, discovered its remarkable properties as a solvent and its potential applications in various industries.
